April 28, 2008: ten days after we
posted the flood pics (see below) of
the Norfork & White Rivers, neighboring Bull Shoals Lake on the backside of
Bull Shoals Dam is still at treetop level (see circle, below). Also worth
noting, the following three pics were taken with a cell phone by Keith
Jensen, President of
UniPul and
co-owner of Metalogic. The handsome young man in 3rd photo down is Keith's
son, Colton.

Floodgates wide open.

Norfork/White Rivers Flood |

APRIL 18, 2008: Our Norfork
Lake reached an all time high today since its impoundment which
began in 1945.
The normal pool is 552 feet
above sea level. At the time of this posting, the surface of the lake has
risen 38.6 feet to a record high of 590.6 feet above sea level.
The photos (below) show the spillway gates
opened for only the third time in
history, with the first time being in 1972, then again in
1993 and now in 2008. |
Also included are some
photos of the Norfork River
flooding downstream.
Folks on the Norfork and
White Rivers are
currently evacuating as they expect to open the spillway gates on
Bull Shoal Dam
as well soon, which will raise levels on the Norfork and White
rivers even further.
This is indeed
unprecedented...!!!! |
